ASSISTANT MERCHANDISER (MATERNITY COVER)

Function of the role:

To plan and develop merchandising strategies, analyse sales figures and market trends whilst anticipating key channels’ product needs. Collaborating with Buyers and Suppliers to negotiate on prices, quantities and time scales to ensure appropriate product lifecycles and optimum availability of all product to maximise revenue opportunities across key channels.

Location:

Head Office, Dudley Street, Luton (Relocating to Gaddesden Hoo, timings tbc)

Working hours:

Full time Monday - Friday

Education requirements:

3+ years within a Merchandising environment. Strong knowledge of reporting systems

Core Skills:

Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills (liaising with UK, Far East and Senior Management teams)

Excellent time management

Ability to prioritise and work under pressure in a calm manner

Excellent negotiation skills

Strong numeracy skills

Strong attention to detail

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT BE CONFINED TO:

• To be the key point of contact for all Suppliers (both in the UK and the Far East). Regularly liaising with them to ensure all deliveries are on schedule and take appropriate action when necessary

• To liaise with the Buying team to ensure they are up to date with any stock issues and delivery timings

• To raise all invoices for suppliers in relation to freight charges

• To analyse all sales figures, and anticipate product needs, planning product ranges and stock

• To interrogate past sales and stock levels to ensure the right stock is being carried over from season to season

• To prepare and coordinate all the appropriate sales reports on a weekly/monthly basis

• To collate all the facts and figures in order to work with Buyers regarding next season’s orders

• Responsible for building, maintaining and improving our ‘Business Objects’ reports

• Reviewing and controlling stock levels of packaging on a weekly basis and arranging for additional stock to be delivered as appropriate

• Attending regular meetings with Directors and Senior Management providing detailed updates around product availability for premium store/online products

• Other ad hoc duties as required
