| A potted history OSPREY was founded in 1980 with just £500 by 25-year-old Graeme Ellisdon. Specialising in creating beautiful handmade leather belts, OSPREY LONDON quickly became all the rage with both rock and real royalty.
Foreseeing that fashion's focus was sure to move away from the waist, Graeme used his love of leather and traditional skills to create the first of many gorgeous, vintage-inspired bags and accessories, earning OSPREY LONDON its worldwide reputation for high class English luxury leather with a twist.
With the family, home and travel long playing an important role in his creative life, Graeme opened the exciting contemporary lifestyle store, OSPREY HOME, outside St Albans, Hertfordshire in 2004, while ospreylondon.com has brought the brand direct to more people at the click of a mouse since 2005.
Spotting an unloved & near-derelict Victorian hat factory in Luton in 2001, Graeme decided to renovate it and turn it into the now-stylish head office and showrooms of OSPREY Graeme Ellisdon Ltd.
In 2006 Graeme launched a collection with a sportier, more relaxed and free-spirited vibe in the most sumptuous of leathers. The easy, go-anywhere glamour of the O.S.P OSPREY Collection is very much in tune with the times. Graeme's insistence on quality and authenticity ensures the OSPREY LONDON brand wins more favour with buyers and press alike every time a new design is launched.
As for the future, expanding our offer for men and creating two new collections a year while developing our retail experience both in the UK and overseas ensure these are exciting times for OSPREY LONDON.
